Support the Theater

The Bennington Theater had quite a year in 2024. Over 100 events took place at the theater in

downtown Bennington on Main Street. Our goal was to provide a wide variety of artistic

presentations that would give everyone a reason to the theater.

In 2024, Bennington Theater presented Theater, Music, Comedy, Dance, Children’s’

performances, Films, Staged Readings of New Works, Cabarets, Improv, Burlesque,

Culinary/Cuisine Events, Masterclasses, Workshops, Lectures, Book Readings, Singalongs, Jim

Thatch’s Trivia, and more.

Just some of the award winning artists that appeared at Bennington Theater included Peter

Antoniou, Take 3, Gangstagrass, Beauty and the Beast, Forever Simon and Garfunkel, Jackie

Fabulous, Pamyua, Jon Rudnitski, Django, and Disenchanted The Musical, just to name a few.

The Manhattan Film Festival debuted this year, along with the modern dance production Subtle

Rage. Local productions included the musical Scrooge in Rouge, Jim Thatch’s Trivia, the

monthly New Works Series staged play readings, and more.

The results of such diverse programming were incredible: In 2024, 50% of our audience visited

the Bennington Theater for the first time, and for 30% of our guests, the Bennington Theater

was their first visit to any theater at all. We are reaching many new patrons of the arts.

The civic leaders of Bennington are engaged in revitalization efforts to renew the downtown

and restore it to its former prominence as a center of community activity. Bennington Theater

now serves as Bennington’s cultural cornerstone and will be a catalyst in the community

focusing on arts and culture. Bennington Theater provides socialization, recreation, culture,

education, as well as increasing tourism and economic development in our community.

For this mission to continue, we need your support. The theater cannot exist on ticket sales

alone. We have proven ourselves as the artistic leader, and for the first time, we are asking for

your financial support to continue our mission.
