Saving Black Bear

When the departure of a longtime manager threatens to shutter an already struggling movie theater in small-town Maine, a band of misfit employees fights to save the place that brought them together.

Saving Black Bear is the latest feature film from Maine filmmaking brothers Nick & Cash Cassidy. It was shot entirely in Maine and centers around Black Bear Cinemas in Orono.

The film stars Nick Cassidy, Julia Steady, Devan Zorn, Cash Cassidy, and Xander Berkeley. Executive Produced by Stephanie Bongiovi. Shot & Edited by Cash Cassidy. Directed by Nick Cassidy.

Cassidy Pictures is an indie film production company founded in 2024 by brothers Nick and Cash Cassidy, based between Los Angeles and South Portland, Maine. Grounded in a grassroots, community-driven approach, Cassidy Pictures tells emotionally resonant stories centered on authentic performances and real, relatable characters. Their debut feature is Childish Things, and their latest is Saving Black Bear.
